ENTRY- LEVEL IT SPECIALIST – FULL-TIME

We are seeking a full-time Entry-Level IT Specialist. The successful candidate will be expected to rapidly learn existing systems and business processes and work collaboratively with personnel to implement, improve, and train staff members. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Learn existing IT systems and support staff in their day-to-day operations
  • Document existing processes and have well thought out suggestions for making those processes more efficient thru use of technology, IT systems and automated workflow.
  • Assist in implementing workflow projects
  • Assist outsourced IT vendor personnel to insure systems remain operational at all times, and
  • Participates in software upgrades and ensures effective training and communication across Guardian staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Management Information from an accredited university is required.
  •  2 years’ previous work experience in a software systems support position is required.
  • This position requires full-time presence in our South Bay office. Remote work is not an option.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and juggling competing/changing priorities in a fast-paced, ever-evolving, environment.
  • Working knowledge of current IT concepts, issues, practices, methodologies and trends.
  • Experience working with operating systems to establish monitoring and logging procedures.
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating System (XP) Microsoft Office. Adobe Suite. TCP/IP and networking concepts, and browser technology.

PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER (PE)– CIVIL/STRUCTURAL

POSITION SUMMARY

Primary focus will be on the completion of forensic engineering projects; ensuring projects conform to the standards and commitment of the firm to our clients while assisting with business development objectives for existing and potential new clients.  This position will be responsible for several simultaneous projects reporting to a National Property Manager and will assist in the management of the Bel Air, MD office. Applicant must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Maryland. read more

RESPONSIBILITIES

Forensic Investigations

  • Provides expert forensic analysis to our clients on an array of engineering projects.
  • Perform field inspections of residential, commercial and/or industrial structures for code compliance and assessment of cause and origin of damages.
  • Review all pertinent construction documentation per client’s requests and provide honest and unbiased analysis and consultation on various property failures.
  • Schedule onsite inspections with property owners to conduct physical inspections and develop written reports of observations and findings.
  • Provide appraisals on structures and equipment on an as-needed basis.
  • Coordinate and provide information in a timely manner satisfactory to clients’ expectations.
  • Develop technical presentations and white papers for use in marketing and continuing education of clients.
  • Support Regional Engineering Manager and other field personnel with peer review of work prior to delivery to clients.
  • Provide written estimates on structures to determine value of damages and responsible party/parties.
  • Travel to perform projects within the standard regional boundaries as needed.
  • Consistently meet or exceed the established performance metrics for this position.
  • Write and submit detailed and accurate reports on completed projects in a timely manner in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Provide expert testimony and/or depositions as needed for assigned projects.

BUILDING PROFESSIONAL - ENVELOPE ENGINEERING
1099 INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR – Pacific Northwest
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work includes new construction and existing building projects for activities such as forensic evaluation of building leaks or structural issues, building cladding or roofing systems and preforming air and water leak testing.
  • The engineer will need to effectively communicate investigative findings and unbiased analysis both in writing and verbally. read more
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required.
  • 5 – 7 years of relevant experience
  • Certifications relating to building inspection and investigation including but not limited to: training/certification, Roofing/Building Envelope (RCI), Infrared Thermography
  • AMAA Active Professional Registration (PE) license within assigned area is preferred.
  • Significant forensic experience (typically 3 years) is desired.
  • Knowledge of building envelope assemblies such as roofing, cladding, air barriers, masonry and glazing systems
