The right candidate possesses data acumen, a research mindset, and a command of grammar and clear language (prior experience with and/or interest in construction/engineering are both highly desired.) In addition to working with a high volume of data (includes organizing it, inputting it, and checking it for accuracy!), you are driven by your ability to generate dozens of smart, precise reports weekly that succinctly convey and substantiate our construction and engineering experts’ claim investigation processes, conclusions, and recommended action steps.
Qualifications & Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. degree
- 3-5 years’ progressively responsible work experience
- Construction experience a plus
- Technical, analytical mindset – details, numbers, facts, organization
- Excel & Pivot pro (and a quick study on other software, too!)
- Claims report experience is also helpful, but we’re open to the right mix of intelligence, diligence, and drive
- Writing and grammar prowess – ability to convey complex information into readily understandable reports
- Demonstrated time management and the ability to work well under pressure
- Flexible, accommodating personality to support the work of multiple professionals
- Ability to multitask, shift priorities, and manage time effectively
Partial List of Responsibilities
- Digest complex information from subject matter experts
- Compose complete reports that include claim and investigation narratives, as well as expert recommendations, in a timely, error-free manner
- Peer-review others’ written reports for clarity, brevity, grammar, typos and other errors
- Incorporate feedback and notes from others
- Create spreadsheets, tables, graphs and charts that visualize the data
- Learn, over time, more about construction, engineering, insurance, surety, and law
- Other assignments, as needed and assigned, as capacities are proven
