CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT GROUP

Construction management: leverage our groundbreaking experience prior to breaking ground

Construction management companies, in order to perform successfully for you, ought to have an intimate familiarity with what most commonly goes wrong in construction. In our opinion, the trades and subcontractor business performance play such a determining factor in construction management success that every construction management company should possess firsthand experience with identifying and rectifying these performance issues and bring it to bear on their projects. From delays to defects to surety issues and claims, it is our experience consulting upon and turning around errant projects that enables us to provide our clients what we, and they, consider to be a more vigilant approach to construction management. Offering both oversight services and construction turnaround services, Guardian Group puts our more defensive approach to work for you, protecting your resources, managing general contractors and monitoring subcontractors with a keener eye and an altogether higher set of performance expectations.

PROJECT OVERSIGHT
Our Oversight Services help you surmount the barriers to the truth.

Construction oversight, done well, keeps your construction projects on-time and on-budget. All too often, senior management is kept insulated from the information essential in determining whether time, cost and quality goals are being met. Conflicts of interest among the participants and too many levels between the truth and the top lead to biased reporting. With Guardian Group, you can breathe easier. Our construction oversight services provide you the meaningful information you need to make timely, informed decisions. This reduces the number and size of the disputes, resulting in fewer claims for more time or money. It’s our job to keep you informed about what is truly happening and, if there is a problem, to advise you as to how to remedy it in the most prompt and prudent manner. Our knowledge of the events that can go wrong prevents unpleasant surprises, saving you significant dollars. That’s construction oversight done right.

CASE STUDIES
Guardian In Action: Construction Schedule Analysis

A major metal producer was able to shave 28 days off of a planned 57-day outage, saving $1 million a day in downtime due to Guardian’s construction management expertise in performing a constructability review and project schedule analysis. Pre-planning and conducting the review was a 10-month process that included relocating some utilities during maintenance outages. Due to its unique experience and background, Guardian Group relies on its knowledge of what can and often goes wrong and is often able to perform in a manner no ordinary construction management company ever could.

Guardian In Action: On-Site Construction Management

Guardian Group assisted a major auto producer with the construction of a production plant expansion for an auto making facility. Plans called for adding two boilers, two compressors, capable of providing compressed air for the entire plant, and an air dryer for instrument air. The project schedule anticipated an 18-month duration. Construction management duties included purchasing and expediting owner-furnished equipment, bid solicitation and evaluation for installation contracts, progress monitoring and schedule updates, progress payment authorization, punch list, system checkout and document closeout. The auto plant commenced operations four months ahead of schedule and system reliability exceeded expectations.
