Hurricane Barry’s slow-moving nature led to excessive rainfall, wind damage and rampant power outages. Fortunately, the storm preparedness efforts undertaken throughout the region seem to have limited Barry’s death and injury toll, yet hundreds will remain displaced due to homes rendered uninhabitable. Storm and tornado damage have impacted the entire Lower Mississippi Valley, including Arkansas and up the Ohio Valley to Tennessee and Kentucky.
